I'm Lisa Cotter - Ireland's leading Placenta Encapsulation expert since 2012I am the owner and founder of Placenta Encapsulation Cork. I work full time as a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist covering all the main maternity hospitals in Ireland and I collect Home Births.
I collect from maternity hospitals in Cork, Waterford, Kerry, Limerick, Clonmel, Portlaoise, Kilkenny & Dublin. I can collect Home Births from anywhere in Ireland, see "Costs" below for details. I am the only Placenta Encapsulation Specialist in Ireland to have three purpose built labs separate to my home. I live in Co. Cork, Ireland and I have three beautiful children. I'm a fully insured and trained in Placenta Encapsulation, with certification from the Independent Placenta Encapsulation Network (IPEN), which is based in the United Kingdom. The methods of encapsulation that I use, hold a 5 star food hygiene rating in the UK. |
I used my Placenta Encapsulation Capsules for my third Child. The difference I felt was remarkable. I was able to breastfeed my newborn without fatigue. My hair didn't fall out like the previous two times and I had no baby blues.
My iron levels shot up back to normal which was fantastic, as I had PPH and almost needed a transfusion. Overall I just felt great. It really does exactly what it says on the tin and my only regret is I didn't have an endless supply of capsules.

Safety
Safety ? .... "I'm a little obsessive about safety but I wouldn't have it any other way."
Safety, reliability, transparency and honesty are the core values of my Placenta Encapsulation business.
We use proper refrigeration and transportation protocols. Any raw organ meat will colonize bacteria if not handled correctly, so proper refrigeration during storage and transportation are absolutely crucial.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your placenta is stored correctly before we collect, but don't worry, it's not difficult & you will know what you need to have to do this well in advance, because it's in my "How our Service Works" page.
In turn we are responsible for the safe transportation of your placenta. We have our own dedicated courier who is fully trained in the safe transportation & chilling of your placenta. This ensures a quick and safe collection that you can rely on !
Each placenta gets My full attention to detail and safety checks including rigorous documentation form start to finish.
Placenta encapsulation Cork operate using a tailor made FSMS (Food Safety Management System). This robust food safety guideline document ensures you are in safe hands with us .
We also have a microbial study to accompany our FSMS to confirm all bacteria is killed during the process including GBS.
Cost
Our service fee for local collections in Cork & from Cork University Maternity Hospital is €240 . This includes hospital / home pick up, safe transportation & chilling of your placenta, preparation of your capsules and hand delivered back to you.
Outside the Cork area there is an extra travel cost that ranges from €100-€200 depending on what county you will be having your baby. Your capsules will then be posted back to you via registered post.
We can give you the exact cost once we know where you are located.
We have our own dedicated courier who is fully trained in the safe transportation & chilling of your placenta. This ensures a quick and safe collection that you can rely on !
